The children had the main word, and the attendees listened attentively!
On 7th October 2024, about thirty children from primary and secondary schools in Veles openly expressed their views and needs during the consultative meeting for the strategic plan. In an atmosphere of sharing, they requested improvements to the environment, solutions for stray dogs and street lighting, schools without discrimination on any basis, and participation in decision-making.
In the previous days, another 20 children of preschool, elementary school age from several kindergartens and schools participated in the consultative meetings at the municipal level. The representatives of the municipal panel listened to their opinion an thoughts, aiming to incorporate them into the plan. Thus, we continued after the consultations, keeping in mind the messages from the children.
The consultative meeting and municipal panel are activities carried out in cooperation with the Municipality of Veles, within the framework of the project “Place for Growth – Child friendly municipalities” implemented by the First Children’s Embassy Megjashi and KMOP Skopje.
